Keo formed in 1927 and with its varied interests in mining, cement production, consumer goods and banking makes it the largest industrial group on the island. It has become a household name and leads the way in the wine making and brewing industry, marketing a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products locally and in over thirty countries worldwide.
Keo began its beer production in 1951 before going on to introducing its wines. Many of the wineries are situated in the Krasochoria region of the Troodos mountains and two of its wineries were amongst the first to be built on the island. Much research and invest has been poured into the Keo wineries, rediscovering indigenous grape varieties dating back to classical times.
